Dr. Chancey earned a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Technological University and master's degree from Abilene Christian University. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee in Youth Ministry, Family Studies and Bible.
He has taught at Oklahoma Christian University since March 2003 where he teaches primarily in youth ministry. He is interested in researching adolescent spiritual formation, parenting adolescents, and adolescent culture.
He is involved in several professional organizations including the National Council on Family Relations, Groves Conference on Marriage and Family, Youth Ministry Educators, and the National Conference on Youth Ministries.
Dr. Chancey is dedicated to Honduras mission trips and has been there many times. He and his wife Vicki have two children, Drew and Matt. They attend Memorial Road Church of Christ.
